I reached out to John after many unsuccessful attempts at trying to get better control over my body composition. He laid it out in simple terms that if I wanted to lose weight, it was simply about controlling calories in vs. calories out. The theory was there and I knew what I had to do, but I was having trouble finding what worked for me. Sharing my struggles with John, he worked with me over the span of three months, readjusting macros and workouts almost on a weekly basis to optimize results and help me reach my goal. "I hired Jon after I had lost 25 pounds and got stuck at 170. No matter what I did I couldn't go below that number. I realized Jon did personal coaching from his instagram and youtube account. What attracted me to Jon was his no-nonsense approach. Jon doesn't accept excuses, he only accepts results. I realized right away Jon was a choleric type of personality; the type that doesn't give up, take excuses or backs off just because the client believes they can't. So I hired him right away. After all, im pretty hardcore myself and needed someone just as hardcore as me and he fit the bill. Jon never missed a day and checked in with me every other day. First thing he did was have me take pictures and download the MyFitnessPal app. That app is amazing (but that's another story)! Next, Jon never told me what to eat, he allowed me to learn from the app; where I was going wrong and be responsible with my food choices. Next he had me weigh-in twice a week and keep a track of it. He also had me meet benchmarks for my body type and issues. Like not eating after 5pm, doing a certain number of workouts a week and keeping my calorie count below a certain number to see results. I never once felt tired, or strained. He made sure that I kept pushing myself. And yes my friends... he would surprise me at times and ask me to hand over my phone so he could check what I was eating/tracking on my fitness app. Yeah, that's when crap gets real cause you know he'll catch you if you're trying to lie to yourself! One thing I really liked about Jon was that he always put the responsibility on me. It was me and only me who could help myself. While a coach is there to guide you, but the client needs to learn to do all the work to get the results. Sure enough in one month I lost 9 pounds and moved to 160.
I would recommend Jon in a heart beat to anyone! I can see based on pictures, the results and im still working towards my goal of 130 despite my personal set backs that occurred this year. Im now between 155-160. I still haven't slipped back to my previous weight of 200 (and I won't) because Jon really gave me the tools and mindset I needed to keep going. "Being an over 50 year old male with difficulties trying to lose weight I was short on answers. Until I turned to Jonathan. A year and a half a go I was kick out of Purdue University. Fell into a deep depression and became extremely sick and lazy all the time. I then started listening to a man named Eric Thomas who saved my life. I found a way to channel my negative thoughts and used that energy to transform my body into the way I wanted it to look. Then, about a month ago, I started to reach a glass ceiling. I kept working harder, tried eating more... I just wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. I didn’t have any real knowledge of nutrition or healthy eating habits. Then everything changed when I met Jonathan. You see, I wanted a healthy alternative to burning fat, willing still being about to eat. I’ve never been into taking metabolism boosters or fat burner pills or anything close to that. I tried them yes .. but they just made me feel extremely hyper and they made me burn fat .. but within a week to two weeks later. I noticed. That I was right back to where I started. With Jonathan’s meal plans I’ve been slowing reaching my goal of 200lbs of lean muscle. The fist image is me at about 182.3lbs. The next one is me at 191.5lbs. The change is AMAZINGLY different. I found myself in a bad spot, and I decided I had had enough. I had let myself go. In looking back to where I was when I started … for me it was a time of contemplation, questioning, frustration and just wanting more. I wanted to start being actively involved in understanding how to better my health overall, not just ‘lose weight’. Yes, ultimately my goal was to lose weight and look better but really I wanted to be more active in understanding what I could to do to be more healthy and mindful of my body. I never realized how taking that very first step with John would change my world and shake it to its core.
At first I was a nervous and anxious about making such a commitment but I knew that I needed to do this if I wanted to move forward. Working with John was totally different than what I had been doing up until this point. I needed that coaching, I needed that guidance, and I needed that person to teach me about how to make it all work. Getting connected with John eased my worries, made me feel confident in what I was about to do, because he and I both new that exercise alone was not cutting it. John listened to me and heard my story, and what my overall goals were and where I wanted to be. He was insistent that he could teach me all the tools I would need to make “gainz” and reach my goals. Boy was he right! John is amazing, reliable, offered regular check-ins, encouragement, tons of support, and getting me to really push my limits with exercise and food. John has a deep understanding of all things health related and set me up in a way that really helped me apply it in my everyday life and experience success.
John and I have been working together now since January and I couldn’t be more excited and confident with myself. Not only have I lost weight and inches, but gained a lifetime of tools and knowledge which have grounded me and changed totally how I approach overall health in my life. Growing up, I was always a skinny kid. I would constantly workout and hit the gym, but to little gain. At 18 years old, I became determined to put on as much muscle/weight as I could and transform my body.
