How To Achieve Your Goals In 2019 | Top 3 Tips

 

It’s 2019 and this is YOUR YEAR to get in shape. The last thing we want is for this new year to be just like the others.

So let’s set some fitness and fat loss goals, and let’s CRUSH them!

Here are my top 3 tips to make sure you do:

Tip #1: Set the RIGHT goals

When I ask others “ what are your goals this year ?” Most of the time, I’ll get reactions that reassure me their goals haven’t been thought of much at all. Thats scares me. Then, it’ll usually be followed by something vague like “I want to get in shape” or “ I want to lose fat”...

Okay, how much fat? What does being in shape mean to YOU? It can mean something different to different people - what's your ideal bodyweight? whats your ideal run pace? How many days a week are you working out ?

I’ve been preaching this for all of 2018 and it WILL continue through 2019 :

QUANTIFY your goals. You need numbers so you can set targets so you can track progress. This is vital. With a vague and unquantifiable goal like “ i want to learn x...”, you WILL NOT reach your goals.

Tip #2: Create Targets (daily, weekly, monthly, etc) & TRACK Progress

I’ll give you an example of my YouTube goal last year: I had two hundred subscribers and set out for a thousand by the end of the year. Great. Next, I asked myself "how was I going to do that ?" So I decided to upload 2 videos a week, every week. The result was explosive growth on my channel as the year went on. Due to the target breaking down the goal into 'bite-sized chunks' was able to create a habit and routine, accommodate it, implement it in my life, and it became easy!

Set targets that you KNOW you can hit - even if it seems trivial at first.  It’s okay to start smaller, plan it out, and stick to it. Exercise self-discipline for a few weeks and it will begin to become a habit and you wont want to break the streak.

Tip #3: Accountability!

 Accountability is one of - if not THE- greatest determinants of whether or not you will hit your goals. And let’s be honest, if you could keep yourself accountable that well...you would have done it by now.

So how do you increase accountability?

You could get a calendar and keep track yourself (to go with the last point). You could find a gym partner or a friend to hold each other accountable.
